Lignocellulosic biomass as a sustainable energy source is one of the viable alternatives to mitigate the problems related to climate change and the growing global energy demand.

In the biomass sector there is an enormous variability of raw materials and they require compliance with specific quality parameters in their final products in order to be marketed. The parameters that determine the quality of biomass for thermal conversion are moisture and ash content, chemical composition, thermal properties and calorific value.

Currently, these parameters are determined in the laboratory through extremely long and tedious chemical tests, which require technical experts and specific equipment.

However, our analytical solution based on NIR technology allows knowing the properties of the raw material, even several parameters simultaneously, quickly and accurately and without the use of additional chemicals and equipment.
